Copyright remains with the author at all times - submitting a photograph here does not affect your rights to use it elsewhere, and does not give us rights to use it other then in this website. We cannot be held responsible for the content of the photographs, nor do we in any way guarantee the authenticity of their claimed authorship or copyright A note confirming authorship of the piece, and stating that it does not infringe anyone else’s copyright should accompany all photographs. The author retains copyright on the photographs at all times, and may use it wherever else he or she pleases, though obviously should the artwork be sold to someone else on an exclusive basis it will have to be removed from the gallery. Photographs will be displayed in two ways; as a thumbnail and as a full-screen JPEG. The JPEG should ideally be less than 500 pixels wide and 350 high to fit comfortably in a standard window, but if you wish to make it larger to avoid loss of detail, that is not a problem. Remember that although the copyright remains legally yours, by placing an image on the Web you are allowing people across the world to download it freely. Should you wish to protect your work further, GIF images can have a 'hidden' credit embedded in the header of the file. Both the GIF Construction Set and Adobe Photoshop 3.0.5 can embed credits in a GIF, so if you want to really lay claim to your work as it circles the globe, do this. Alternatively, JPEG images can have credits written, invisibly, in the header in file through Photoshop. All photographs will be displayed with a credit and a copyright notice. In addition, anyone submitting artwork may also like to include:
There is absolutely no obligation to provide any of these, though, and we recognise that many photographers will not wish to. The service is there for those who want it - these details will not be included unless asked for. Submission of photographs does not guarantee its inclusion in the gallery, and the final decision on its inclusion rests with "Photographs from Russia". We reserve the right to remove any photograph at any time. However, we would like to encourage as many people as possible to submit artwork to the gallery, so please don't be put off because of this. Artwork should be submitted to Vladimir Maximoff vladimir@rhelp.com, to whom any other questions about the "The Photographs from Russia" should be addressed. |
