The adoption of Christianity in the West has shown how easily pagan rites and customs (Yule logs, Easter eggs) could be incorporated into Christian celebrations. The Soviet experience shows how religion may come and religion may go, but holidays go on forever. Eating and drinking, singing and dancing are naturally a part of these russian triaditional celebrations. |
